Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
While Indy and Marion are in the Well of the Souls, and they encounter the snakes, Indy falls to the ground only to get confronted by a Cobra rearing its head and hissing. Look carefully and you'll see the reflection of the snake on the safety glass between it and Indy. Briefly you can also see the torch's reflection while he's waving it around. (Note: This is visible only in the VHS versions of the movie as the glare was removed on the DVD edition)
When Indy and Sallah visit the gentleman who translates the staff headpiece for them we hear the staff should be "...six cadams high." Indy replies, "That's about six feet." Then, turning the headpiece over, "Wait - take back one cadam to honor the Hebrew God whose Ark this is..." So, about five feet now, right? But, when Indy goes to the map room the staff is much taller than him. If the staff is about five feet high, Indy would be around three feet tall.
When Indy is climbing into the map room, he throws the staff of Ra down the hole, yet when he climbs down, it's resting perfectly against the wall, as if someone had placed it there.
Near the beginning of the movie where Indiana is running away from the army South American indians after Belloq robs Indiana of the gold statue, in one shot you can see that the indians are only a few meters behind Indiana, but in the next shot, they are at least 50 meters behind
In the beginning of the film when Indy gives Belloq the idol it is covered in spider webs, when Belloq turns and raises the idol to the natives there is not a thread to be seen.
When Indy goes to save Marion in the tent he removes the handkerchief gag. But when he decides to leave her there, he puts the gag back on and some of her hair gets caught underneath the gag on one close up shot from the left. But when the camera goes to the back of Indy, her hair is no longer caught underneath the gag.
Raiders is supposed to take place in 1936, however throughout the film, the German soldiers are using what appear to be MP-38 or MP-40 sub-machine guns (No way to tell which model they were, as they both look identical). These guns weren't put into service with the German Army until 1938 and 1940 respectively.
In the scene where Indiana is figting the German mechanic by the plane, the plane goes around in circles and the wing tip of the plane punctures a hole in a petrol tanker that is parked near by. This causes the petrol to gush out of the tanker and you can see that ground underneath the plane gets totally drenched with petrol. But in the later shots, the ground under the plane is dry. There is also a shot where you can see the tanker in the background not pouring petrol any more and all you can see is a little wet spot around the tanker.
In the scene where Indiana Jones ambushes the Nazis with the arc, he threatens them with an anti-tank rocket. Anti-tank rockets weren't developed until later on (well into the Second World War), and those very first, called "Panzerfaust", looked completely different. The type of anti-tank rocket he uses to threaten with is modern, dating back to the 70s.
When the Well of Souls is opened it makes a vacuum sound. This would be impossible if the snakes were entering from outside, or if they were to survive.
When Indy and Sallah are deciphering the head piece there is a shot over Indy's shoulder. As he turns you can see the reflection of a fluorescent light in his glasses.
When Indy climbs onto the pontoon of the airplane from the lagoon in the opening sequence, he is obviously wet from swimming in the lagoon. However, in the next scene as he climbs further, his clothes are miraculously dry as observed by watching them blowing freely during take-off.
When Indy heads to Nepal, we see his plane flying over a completed Golden Gate Bridge. The film is set in 1936, when the bridge was still under construction. It was completed in 1938.
In the Himalayan bar scene when the sherpas leave, Marion starts to pick up the shot glasses and puts them on a tray - except one, which she leaves on the table. Next shot from overhead shows that the glass is no longer there.
When the government comes to see Indy at the University he is teaching, He puts the huge book on the table and one of the buckles comes undone. But when he goes to open the book to show the men a picture of the Ark he undoes both buckles.
When Indy is fighting the German at the plane, if you look at the wheels when the plane is turning around, you can see a chain and sprocket assembly that is driving the wheel to actually turn the plane.
Sallah and Indy are peering into the well of souls. Sallah is to the right of Indy. Indy then drops the torch into the well, and when the camera comes back up, Sallah is on the left of Indy.
When Indy and Satipo are entering the cave and clearing the cobwebs, you can see at least one spider on Indy's back. The next scene shows a clear, long shot of Indy's back with light reflecting on his jacket and no spiders. The next scene, the Satipo notices the spiders.
During the middle of the bar fight scene, Indy was slammed on the counter and whispered, "Whisky". In the next shot Marion grabbed the bottle and handed it to Jones. The very next shot she hands him the bottle again.
When Indiana Jones is fighting the German by the Flying Wing, the German punches Indiana Jones on his right cheek. Indy's face and body are both knocked down to the right, in the direction of the punch. When you watch this, you can see its impossible to be knocked down in such a way.
Once Indy & Sallah have descended into the Well of the Souls, they slowly begin to approach the concrete structure that houses the Ark. As they approach, the camera pulls back to reveal the huge scale of the Well of the Souls, and across the top of the screen, in perfect silhouette, is the lighting rig.
When the German staff car is driven off the road and Belloq stands and says "idiot", the driver reacts to the slap before it hits him.
In the chase through Cairo streets - Indy rounds the corner of the plaza in which the truck (supposedly holding Marion in a basket is kept) - as Indy comes around the corner, a Nazi shoots at him with a machine gun - watch this closely, the gun moves in the opposite direction as the bullets on the ground.
When Indiana is climbing the statue to escape from the well of souls the snake that he encounters makes a rattling sound. However, the snake has no rattle and rattlesnakes are indigenous to the Americas.
When Indy and Marion are being sealed up in the Well of Souls, You can plainly see Marion counting down (she is mouthing the numbers) to the cue for her to scream as the Well is sealed.
Before the shoot-out in Marion's bar, after Toht asks her for the amulet, she's sitting alone at the table. She pulls the amulet out of her shirt, the chain still around her neck, and stares at it in the candlelight. The next moment the chain is not around her neck and she hangs the necklace onto the table centerpiece.
Several times during the fight in and around the truck (The Desert Chase) the bars around the top of the cab come off and are miraculously back on again.
In the early scene where Indy is running from the natives towards the plane, he is seen running across an open field towards the river, shouting to "Jock" the pilot to start the plane. It is clear that Jock is watching him approaching, however, Indy then enters a wooded area, and swings from a tree into the river. Due to the height of the trees, Jock would not have been able to get any view of Indy as he approached.
During the truck chase scene, they drive past several cliffs, and one car goes flying off the cliff. One problem with this, there are no big cliffs that close to Cairo.
When Indy meets the government agents who are trying to get him to assist their quest to find Ravenwood, one of the agents is dressed appropriately for the time period; the other one is dressed in what appears to be a late 1970's style polyester light blue leisure suit.
This is supposed to take place in the 1930's, but the map says Iran, Iraq, and I believe Israel too. Naturally, Israel didn't receive statehood until 1948, and at the time Iran/Iraq was Persia.
When Indy is fighting the German near the plane and the German gets ripped apart by the propeller blades, his blood is splattered all over the cockpit window where Marion is, yet when Indy goes to get her out the cockpit window is completely clean.
At one point Belloq is sitting in a tent with Marion. Belloq reaches over and gets a bottle of gin and pops the cork out of the bottle. He would have needed a cork screw to have opened the tightly sealed, brand new bottle.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
When Indy is fighting on the conveyor belt, he is about to be run over a couple of times, but in the next shot he is further away.
When the first man is lowerd into the pit he is on fire well before he hits the molton rock. When Willie is lowered in, she is wearing much more, which should catch alight but she doesn't, and she is almost touching the lava.
Indy's bridge breaks and he is hanging by it with the natives shooting arrows at him. If you look closely you can see two arrows bounce off his back.
In the scene where Willie asks Indiana where he found Short Round, Indiana says he bought him after both his parents were killed when the Japanese bombed Shanghai. This movie was set in 1935 and the Japanese didn't bomb Shanghai until 1937.
When Willie is hanging onto the muddy cliff after the water rushes out, she is barefoot. When she is on the bridge, she is wearing sandals.
When Shorty falls through the bridge, a large hole is made. Later on, the hole disappears.
When they fly from Shanghai (southern China) to India (southwest of China)you see the plane passing the Great Chinese Wall. But the wall is placed in northern China, not on the route Shanghai - Chungking - India.
All during the fight in the sacrifice temple, the strap across Indy's chest hangs from his left shoulder to his right side. When he hugs Shorty, the strap is reversed. Also, the blood on his mouth occasionally switches sides, as does the parting of his hair.
When the group piles into the lifeboat on the crashing plane, Shorty (who is stuck between Indy and Willie) exclaims "Indy, I can't breathe!", but his lips don't move.
During the 8 minute race on the mine carts through the mine. The group passes several bottemless cliffs, several huge holes, and even a hole of lava about 200 feet long. Yet when the water is released, it gets to them in about 30 seconds, and shows no sign of stopping when they outrun it.
In the scene where Indy and Willie are waiting for each other to come to their respective rooms, Indy's clock shows the time as 10:17 and yet when the Thuggee guard tries to strangle Indy, the same clock shows the time at 10:36.
At the end, the elephant that Short Round is riding sprays Indiana and Willie with water. If you watch very carefully or in slow-mo, Harrison winces in anticipation right before the water hits them.
When Mola Ram forces Willie and Shorty onto the bridge, Willie is in front of Shorty. When Indy is thinking about cutting the bridge, Shorty is in front of Willie.
When Willie goes to save Shorty and Indy when they are trapped in the room with the spikes, she is wearing her silk pj's. However, when she is captured by the worshippers, she is wearing the outfit she wore at the dinner they had that night.
When Indy enters the dungeon, he is using a match to lighten the writing on the wall. You can see the shadow of his whole arm which shouldn't be visible if that match was the light source.
When Indy is struggling on the bridge, he breaks one or two of the planks. When they are shown again, they are undamaged.
When fighting the sword wielding guards before getting on the bridge, Indy uses his bullwhip to disarm one of them. As the sword flies out of his hand it kind of hangs in the air as it falls. It is obviously a prop made of a very light material.
In the scene where the British army arrives, they start shooting at the Thugees. They never re-aim their guns after the first shot they take, but miraculously, they get a hit almost every time.
The scene on the bridge takes place above a river. Sometimes the river unterneath it is very wide, at other times it's just a small river.
We are told Shorty is from Shanghai but when they are playing a game of cards in the jungle Indiana calls him a cheat. Shorty then talks in the deep southern Cantonese dialect of China. If he was from Shanghai he would speak in the Shanghai dialect.
When they are riding the life raft off of the top of the snow-covered mountain watch how it falls. Indy, Willie and Shorty were close to the front of the raft, yet the raft drifts backwards before plunging in nose first. That would be impossible with all of the weight shifted to the front of the raft to begin with.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
The evil SS officer is addressed as "Herr Oberst" (Colonel) throughout the movie. In the SS, however, this rank was called "Standartenfuehrer".
When Indy is stepping on the letters at the end, trying to spell out God's name, he steps on J, incorrectly. When he falls through, however, he grabs onto another letter so as not to fall down. The letter he grabs onto and pulls himself up with is not in the word Iehovah.
It is true that Jehovah is Iehovah in Latin, so at the time the booby traps were placed, they would have spelled it with an I. The problem is that there's no such thing as a J in Latin, so they wouldn't have even known to put J there to trip people up, since it didn't even exist.
At one point, Indy rolls off of the side of a tank, and somehow gets a strap around one of the guns pointing out from the sides. The end of the barrel has already been blown open by the rock he shoved in earlier. How did the strap get around that big cluster of metal, and then back again so he could climb back on the tank?
In the temple in the Canyon of the Crescent Moon, Indy rushes to his father's aid with the Holy Grail filled with water. He is shown pouring every last drop onto his father's wound by turning the Grail upside down, yet another camera angle shows his father clutching the grail to his chest, and there's still a bit of water in it.
When the tank goes over the cliff, the turret detaches upon impact. But in a subsequent shot, the tank is shown rolling over with the turret still attached.
When Indy and the gang are racing the Nazis to the canyon of the Crescent Moon, Indy looks at the Nazi convoy with binoculars. Close-ups of Indy show the sun is clearly behind him, and the binoculars are in his shadow. But then a glare from the lens alerts the Nazis to their presence.
In the library, Indiana is looking for the "X" or 10 to match the one on the stained-glass window. When he goes up the stairs, he points out the large yellow/gold "X" on the library floor. When you see him blowing the dried out caulk and opening the floor open with the gold stool thing, the "X" is no longer yellow. It is barely visible and is almost the exact same color of the floor
When Indy and his father are captured in the castle and the Germans leave (with Donovan) it's rainy and dark outside, yet when Indy and his father escape a few moments later and take the motorcycle it's clear daylight.
In the beginning, when Indy is fighting aboard the Coronado ship, he is punched in the face and bleeding on one side. The camera then changes views, and the next time it shows him, he is bleeding out the other side of his mouth.
When Indy is breaking through the wall in the catacombs, and he uses his shoulder as a battering ram. You can see his head actually bounce off a piece of the rock real hard as he is going through the wall. If the rock was real, I guess Indy would have a lot to cry about that night.
While Indy and Marcus are in the apartment in Venice, after Marcus says, "He knew everything, except the name of the city", he slams the diary shut. Then it's shown open, and he closes it a second time. When Indy takes it, it's once again open.
At one point Indiana's father blows the tail of the plane in which they were flying to pieces in an attempt to shoot at the Germans. This is obviously in a close-up studio shot. The next moment the plane is shown flying in the distance with its tail still intact.
When Adolf Hitler autographs Indiana's grail diary, he does so with his right hand; in reality, Hitler was left-handed.
When Indy takes four horses before battling with the tank, three are black and one is bay (brown with black legs, mane and tail). Sallah is riding a chestnut. When they ride to the Grail Temple, there are two black horses and two chestnuts.
After the Joneses escape the German castle by motorcycle, they stop at a crossroads. The first shot of the signpost here shows "Venedig" (German for Venice). A subsequent close-up of the sign shows the English version of the city name, "Venice".
During the big chase scene leading up to the three challenges, Indy uses his gun and begins to takes the high road on his horse. Harrison Ford couldn't seem to find the holster for his gun, so you can see his holding the gun by his side until the scene changes.
In the motorcycle chase scene after the escape from Brunwald castle, Indy's hair is noticeably longer than it was in the castle scenes. It returns to the shorter length when they stop at the crossroads.
When Indy takes the mail out of his pocket in the beginning of the film, he keeps the "Grail Diary" in his hand, but puts the letters down twice. Once before he opens the package and once after with the wrapper.
When the Nazi convoy enters the canyon the Nazi leader says "it must be one or two miles away from here" but if he is German wouldn't he use kilometres instead of miles?
When young Indy (River Phoenix) is advised by the fedora-topped henchman at the end of the chase, the cut he received while using the bullwhip in a previous scene changes angles.
In the scene where Indy & the protector of the Grail are in the boat about to be destroyed by the rotors, there are panels on the top of the boat that pop up and are destroyed when the boat is moving backwards into the rotors. In the next shot, they are intact, then in the next shot, they are destroyed again.
When Indiana and the Protector of the Grail are fighting in the boat that is about to be chewed up by the giant screw/propeller, when the angle changes to the top point of view, you can see the rope pulling the front of the boat around to position the rear for destruction...
Indy and his father don't lose their hats when they are in the plane after the Zeppelin.
When River Phoenix first finds the whip in the car with the lion. He uses the whip, hits himself in the chin and is bleeding, the camera flashes to the lion, and when it flashes back, he is bleeding down the other side of his chin.
When Indy has crashed into the lion's house on the train, he takes the whip in his left hand. In the next shot after seeing the lion you can see the whip is in Indy's right hand just before he hits the lion and makes his chin bleed.
In the scene when Indy is wearing the uniform of a German Artillery Officer. He is wearing the ribbon of the 1939 Iron Cross 2nd class in his buttonhole. As this is supposed to be in 1938, you work out the math.
After Elsa gives Donavan the false Grail, he turns and you can see the reflection of the camera lens in the cup.
When coming up out of the manhole from the catacombs, both Indy and Dr. Schneider are remarkably dry for two people who had both just been under water.
In the scene where Indy and Kasim are fighting on the speedboat while it is being chopped up by the propeller of a ship, the windscreen on the boat is upright, and just as Indy says to Kasim " why are you trying to kill us?" the windscreen is lying flat.
All through the film, SS-Standartenführer Vogel (Michael Byrne) is seen wearing the Iron Cross in second place beside his SA Military Sports Badge. This is totally wrong. As the Iron Cross is a Military Award, it would be worn over or to the right of any other badge on the pocket. Also presuming this is a 1914-18 Iron Cross, he should then be wearing a ribbon bar over his left pocket displaying his WW1 Honor Cross Ribbon along with long service ribbons, etc.
When Indy and his father are being pursued by German soldiers on bikes, right after they break through the barrier, the barrier guard comes out of his post and waves the pursuing German soldiers to slow down in the background. In the next shot he's no longer there.
The 109s that are animated are shaped like the original German fuel injected ones. The shots where it's a real plane show the modified one with a RR Merlin engine that gives it a weird square nose.
The candles that adorn the wall in the Grail room do not appear to have a strong enough flame to put out the light they do that shines on the wall. In fact, it looks like there are electrical lamps just behind the candle.
When Indiana is fighting on top of the tank, he kicks the periscope. It spins counter-clockwise, but the handles inside spin clockwise.
When Indy & his father first sit down in the airship, Henry picks up a paper and starts to read it. Look closely and you can see that it's upside down.
Although a rather funny scene, how could the German citizens on the zeppelin have understood why Indy threw the SS colonel off the ship? Although he had been asking for tickets in German, Indy explained to everyone that the colonel had "no ticket" in English...
